I am pleased to report that the Herrmann Tennis Academy has just completed its tenth season! The Academy debuted in the summer of 1999 at the Oak Brook Park District Racquet Club. Our core group of 20 committed players re-located to the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort later that fall and I proudly watched the academy grow in size and staff. After two years, the program outgrew the facility and moved permanently to Glenbrook Racquet Club in Northbrook, Illinois. Currently the program has over 250 students and 15 full-time staff members. Many of our juniors are highly ranked in the Midwest and Nationally. Academy alumnae include over 50 students who are currently competing or have played at the collegiate level.
From the beginning, my vision and philosophy has been to “exceed the needs of the competitive junior player”. I do this by offering the best coaching, training, conditioning and mental preparation available. It is my belief that through hard work, self-discipline, and dedication that all individuals at the Academy will succeed both on and off the tennis court. I am proud of the fact that many families have called this academy "an organized program... an experienced staff."
It is my vision and philosophy to push each participant to understand the steps involved with the process of achieving one’s dreams. My coaching staff wants to impact their students’ lives in a positive manner by giving them the opportunity to excel not only at a lifetime sport, but also throughout their everyday lives.
As an equity owner of Glenbrook Racquet Club, it is terrific having the Academy based at the largest tennis facility in the Chicago North Shore area. Our facility includes 10 indoor courts, access to 20 outdoor hard courts, and a fitness/conditioning area. With outstanding facilities and top-notch coaching staff, the Academy finds itself in a position to continually grow in a positive direction.
I am excited about our growth as a team and we continue to develop opportunities, such as our Overnight Summer Camp, High Performance Boot Camps, Midwest Closed Camp, and the Collegiate Advisory Program. I keep trying to explore to expand and improve our quality of tennis instruction. I am most proud of the families that have given the academy continuous support, and the very loyal staff I have had all these years.
If you have any questions or are interested in more information, please don’t hesitate to contact us at Info@HerrmannTennisAcademy.com. I look forward to seeing you on the courts…
Sincerely,

Ken Herrmann
