Herrmann Wins 8th Title in 2009
 Kenny Herrmann won his 8th tournament title of 2009, capturing the Turkey Bowl Challenger held at the Vaughan Athletic Center in Aurora, Ill. November 27-29. The title was the fifth in the 12s’ division for the 10 year old Herrmann this year.
Kenny cruised through his first match defeating Andrew Nelson 6-1, 6-0. In the second round Herrmann faced a much stiffer test, taking down Sam Shelton 6-4, 6-3.
In the finals Herrmann started slow, dropping the first set 6-0 to Franco Reyes. After that, he dominated the match, winning 12 of the last 14 games to take the next two sets 6-2, 6-0.
“Kenny has an unmatchable tenacity that allows him to work extremely hard at all times,” said HTA Head Coach Jackie Jenkins. “When you combine his effort with the amount of time he has spent on court this year it is no surprise that he has had so much success.”
In addition to his 8 tournament titles, Herrmann has appeared in 14 finals and is ranked 14th in the USTA Midwest Section Boys’ 10s ranking.
