Marbach (B14) and Sam Hoogland (B12) had the top showings, as each advanced to the round of 32 in their respective draws. Marbach made short work of his first two opponents beating Los Angeles’ Alex Giannini 6-2, 6-4 and Alabama’s Adam Lue 6-1, 6-0. In his third match Marbach fell to Boys’ 14 dynamo Trey Daniel 6-2, 6-1. In the backdraw, Marbach dropped a tough 1-6, 6-0, 6-3 match to Alex Ball of California.
“Eric had his best results at a 14’s National Championship in Arizona,” noted HTA Director Ernie Katko. “His excellent commitment to both on and off court training is paying dividends.”
